STORY

Years ago we set up a rental design studio in Bangkok provide the space for individual designers to work and make their own product within our workshop to pursue a slower, simpler and more intentional lifestyle for ourselves and small groups of designers and makers. We dreamed of setting up a creative community in an outskirt of the city. Shortly after we moved in, we start to find a perfect decoration for our studio and we can not find what we were looking for in Bangkok, a nice quality galvanize product. We only found cheap machine-made product with bad quality.

We decided to make some samples of the product we want by ourselves and also search for craftsmen who can repeat the samples. Then we found him with some of his crews. We work together from then. We start to sell our product in the art market zone, the zone dedicated for new and emerging experimental designs, at Thailand leading retail fair called Baan Lae Suan Fair with only 1 square meter stand. The feedback was great and it lead us to design and produce even more products for many design and lifestyle stores as well as some leading department stores in Bangkok and also other province of Thailand.

High demand for our product has left us saying “sorry, we’re sold out” for quite sometimes. While it is a happy problem, we’ve been hard at work looking for solutions. For several years we dreamed about where to produce even more product, with more quantities and still keep the quality. We decided to expand our production to Ho Chi Minh.

We’re a friend sharer company and friendship is at the heart of our business. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to spend our days working together, surrounded by a team of caring individuals who share our dream of bringing more beauty into the world. We care deeply about protecting the environment and are committed to conducting our business with local staffs as much as possible.

We believe in sharing. There’s no sense in hoarding all the information, so we share what we’ve learned along the way through photographs, stories, articles and social media. We are committed to quality and pour our hearts into designing, producing and gathering information to our community.

Our products mainly produce form galvanize steel sheet combines with natural material such as wood, manila rope or fabric. Most of the product we have are in natural finishing but still, we carefully choose some special colours for our product each season. Here are some details about the materials we use.

Material

Galvanized steel is widely used in applications where corrosion resistance is needed, and can be identified by the crystallization patterning on the surface. It is iron and steel coated with a layer of zinc gives a usual dull grey, fairly strong material that protects the steel underneath from further corrosion in many circumstances. Galvanized steel can be folded, welded, rolled and striped to create forms and turn in to many products. It is normally used to make outdoor grates, industrial walkway sand also used in electronic appliances, computers, and precision instruments. You can find everyday items that can be made from galvanized steel from Tin Home Toy; vases, washtubs, bath tubs, buckets, planters, backyard grills, garbage cans and etc. You can also find Playground equipment such as swing set, jungle gyms, and bicycle racks that constructed from this rust-resistant material in the market as well.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Wood has been used for thousands of years for as a construction material and in furniture industry. It is an organic material gives warm touch and user-friendly feeling to the product.

We use many kinds of wood in our product, most of them are soft wood because the light colour of soft wood makes galvanize steel looks warmer. We use pine wood and acacia wood for handles, lids, trays, talbe legs and also stucture of some products such as our drawers. you can feel the pattern and texture when you touch them.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Manila rope is a type of rope made from manila hemp, a type of fiber obtained from the leaves of the abac. It is not actually hemp, but named so because hemp was long a major source of fiber, and other fibers were sometimes named after it. The name refers to the capital of thePhilippines, one of the main producers.

Manila rope is very durable, flexible, and resistant to salt water damage, allowing its use in rope, hawsers, ships' lines, and fishing nets. It can be used to make handcrafts like bags, carpets, clothing, and furniture. We use it for our handles and it goes very well with galvanized steel

We also have other materials we combine with our galvanized steel product to make our product more unique and friendly. We plan further for the new material that can be exiting and very interesting. Please keep yourself posted for our new product line with new materials :)
